In 1994 Resurrection
parish initiated the Bereavement Ministry. Many parishioners have had first-hand knowledge of this ministry. At present, the
group consists of fourteen members who participate by giving their time and concern to families who have lost their loved
ones. Those who can, visit the various funeral homes to pray for and to pay their respects to the deceased and their families.
They attend the funeral Masses, send cards to the families throughout the year and, most importantly, they keep the deceased
and their family members in their prayers. Every November, a special All Souls Day Liturgy is celebrated. This is a beautiful
way to remember those who have died throughout the current and previous years. The social after Mass gives the pastor, the
members of the Bereavement Ministry and the families and friends of the deceased a wonderful opportunity to share memories
and renew friendships.
For the services they perform for the bereaved
and the consolation they give to the grieving, the parish wishes to thank the members of the Bereavement Ministry.
