In
Witness of Their Service . . .
Who hasn’t been to one of our Fabulous Fish Frys? A few years ago one parish family decided to visit other
Fish Frys in the area as a change from its old routine of dining in the Garden Room every Friday of Lent. It wasn’t
long before they realized that the Resurrection Fish Fry was the best in the South Hills area and came running back.
Our Fish Frys are held
every year from Ash Wednesday until the Friday before Good Friday. While no one knows exactly when the first Fish Fry was
held, it is believed to be going on for at least eight years. The mission of the Fish Fry is to promote community and to raise
money for the parish. About twenty faithful parishioners spend Thursdays of Lent preparing the food and Fridays cooking and
serving it. Then in July, we have one more opportunity to enjoy a good fish dinner during the Fun flair.
The parish wishes to thank the
members of the Fish Fry Team for their continued commitment to
making sure that we eat fish on the Fridays of Lent every year.
