The
first meeting of the original Guild was held in November of 1951. The first goal if its members was to help the sisters and
the children of the school. They volunteered their services in the lunchroom of the school, held the first graduation party
for eighth graders and helped a number of charitable organizations in the community. Two years later the Guild merged with
the Christian Mothers and continued to contribute to the welfare of the parish. Today, the Women’s Guild numbers one
hundred members who carry out fund raisers for Resurrection, provide gifts to women’s shelters and treats for those
receiving Meals on Wheels. The women fund scholarships for students, organize our Sunday socials, and attend the March for
Life in Washington, D. C. every January. The Guild remains affiliated to the Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers and the
Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.
For the services
they perform for the community and the parish, we wish to thank the members of the Resurrection Women’s Guild.
