In
Witness of Their Service…
The parish
is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of
faith, of action, and of hope. Each parish has a unique mission
to proclaim and witness to the Good News of the Gospel. Parish Pastoral Councils are formed to assist the pastor in making
sure that it is possible for all members of the parish to carry out this mandate by practical pastoral planning.
This involves researching, considering,
and proposing to the pastor, pastoral goals for the parish community. Since
its inception in September of 2003, the eight to twelve members of the Parish Pastoral Council of Resurrection has tried to
carry out its obligations to the parish in a prayerful and conscientious way. It has developed a Parish Mission Statement,
organized and carried out a Parish Census, met with members of some parish organizations and ministries to become informed
about their activities, created quarterly communications of parish happenings through the Parish Newsletter and Town Hall
Meetings, began a Stewardship Initiative, formed a Small Faith Community and recommended the formation of a Youth Group and
a Men’s Fellowship Group.
For this,
the parish wishes to thank the members of the Parish Pastoral Council for their continued assistance to the pastor and their
support of the ongoing organizations and ministries of the parish.
