he Stewardship Initiative was born in January 2007 of the Parish Pastoral Council out
of the need to enlighten members of the parish that Catholic Stewardship embraces all we do in the name of Jesus, our model.
Because stewardship is usually associated with money, the Stewardship Team, as the nine members came to call themselves, began
by focusing on time and talent, returning to God, the Source of all that we have, a portion of our gifts. During Lent of that
year, a series of six bulletin inserts were provided parishioners to help them understand the true meaning of stewardship,
to identify and discern their own gifts and to determine where their gifts could be best utilized in existing parish organizations
and ministries. In addition, the Stewardship Initiative has been responsible for holding a welcome dinner for anew members
of the parish in October, preparing the Parish Newsletter and Town Hall Meetings twice a year, initiating a program for parents
of first born babies baptized at Resurrection, and planning and carrying out the present year of Focus on Stewardship.
The parish wishes to thank the members of the Stewardship Team for their
contributions to the spirit of stewardship in the parish, and their continued efforts to support and encourage stewardship
of time and talent among parishioners.
