Theme: Baptismal
Covenant
The very first event of our lives in which we act as Jesus did, was the act of being
baptized. As with Jesus, our public life as a Christian began when we made our Baptismal Covenant with God to take up the
earthly mission of Jesus. Our baptism, while giving us all the rights and privileges of the Christian community of believers,
also committed us to the responsibility to give ourselves to others as Jesus did during his lifetime. While having the nature
God, Jesus was also fully human. Jesus lived his life on earth through his human nature; it is his human nature that is our
model to follow.
Scripture Readings: Acts 2: 36-47, Hebrews 8: 7-12, Romans 12: 1-2
Meditation: What does my Baptismal Covenant mean to me?
Action: Look up the date of your Baptism, mark it on your calendar and plan to celebrate
that day in a special way when it rolls around.
