As a parish for 100 years we have been a beacon of hope and spirituality for the people of our community.
As God’s holy people we need to rekindle the joy and hope with which
Resurrection parish was built and continue to bring light, hope and joy in this 21st century.
AS A PARISH:
- Beginning in June, 2008, we will observe a special year of
Focus on Stewardship, using your time, talent and treasure for the Kingdom of God, (see the back).
- Beginning June 29th,
2008 we will participate in the Diocesan Year of Eucharistic Adoration to strengthen vocations in honor of the conversion of St.
Paul. During this year the Eucharist will be adored continuously
in some parish of the Diocese. Each parish was assigned two days when parishioners are invited to pray before the Blessed
Sacrament for 24 hours. Our days at Resurrection are Monday, July 28th and Friday, December 26th, 2008. More
details will follow. Plan now to take part in this time of prayer. We will extend our days to the First Friday of the each month to pray for the Renewal of our Parish.
- During the year we will offer two more
opportunities for the study of the Bible. Besides the Thursday morning on-going Bible study, there will be
a study of the Letters of St. Paul in the evenings
and on Tuesday morning an introductory Bible Study of God’s Plan for Salvation, From Genesis
to Jesus.
- From April 18 to April 22, 2009 we will have
a Parish Evangelization Mission.
AS AN INDIVIDUAL: - Sign up the weekend of June
1st 2008, on our Year of Prayer Calendar, choosing one day or more to pray for the Parish. We want to cover our parish
with prayer during this year, asking the Holy Spirit to renew us in the Fire of His Love.
- Deepen your love of the Eucharist: 1. Be faithful in attending Sunday Mass and invite a family member
or neighbor that may have stopped coming; 2. Attend weekday Mass when you can, at least once or twice a month,
and intercede for the parish and community; and 3. Sign up for a time of Adoration on our
special days or on First Friday.
- Deepen your love of
the Word of God by reading the Scriptures and attending one of the Bible studies.
- Say the Rosary daily or at least once a week for the parish and community.
- Share your faith
with your family and send in your stories about whom and how Re-surrection has helped you grow in your faith.
These will be our living history to be published in the bulletin along with the facts of our history.
- Contact the rectory if you want to help with any of the planning
for spiritual renewal.
BE PROUD
OF RESURRECTION, BE PROUD TO BE CATHOLIC AND CELEBRATE YOUR FAITH!
